Geocaching since 4-16-2007

I started Geocaching 4-16-2007 after reading a new myspace message arriving from an old friend from HS. You gotta love myspace for finding old friend! Rick mentioned many things in his email, but the only thing that stands out as I write this is his mention of geocaching. After hearing more information on it and getting the link to www.geocaching.com I just knew I had to join. I continued to read the website discovering that you can download an application to your cell phone and be caching in minutes. So as any other curious muggle would do, I downloaded the application and within minutes I located caches all around me. One cache in particular was within in a half mile of my house. I grabbed my son and put him in the stroller and off we went. We arrived at a historical marker for a nearby neighborhood. This was a multi (more on that later) and I had two stages to complete before claiming a smiley (more on that later). I figured out the cords to the second stage by subtracting numbers from the historical plaque. Once I had them all I was ready for the next stage, unfortunately I didn't know how to input the new cords (coordinates) into the phone leaving me anxious to find the final. I returned a day later and found the little magnetic key holder with in minutes. My first cache is called In The Glen. After that thrilling experience I knew this would be a life long hobby.
